Additionally, Business Professionals of America partners with Special Olympics to bring awareness to the organization’s mission. Greenville High School was awarded the Volunteer Service Award for donating more than 5,500 volunteer hours and $10,000 to Special Olympics Ohio. As an organization, the Ohio Association donated more than 6,000 volunteer hours and $28,538.65 as the result of special and longstanding fundraising efforts by local chapters.
The Ohio Association also released a virtual Torch Awards Ceremony, which recognized 205 Ohio Association members who earned the Statesman Torch Award. The Statesman Torch Award is given to a member “who is a leader in the promotion of public good and national affairs” and is earned by completing activities that promote overall professionalism and leadership.
