Business Professionals of America, Ohio Association, is a career-technical student organization (CTSO) consisting of 18 regions located throughout Ohio. Each region has a student leadership team that, with the assistance of advisors, sets the direction for its region.
The Ohio Association has a six-member student leadership team. The Leadership Team is responsible for setting and carrying out an annual program of work. The team is responsible for planning the two major annual conferences.
FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (NOVEMBER) Participants attend a series of interactive leadership development workshops. The state officer team is elected at this conference. Open to Middle Level, Secondary and Post-Secondary members.
STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (MARCH) Competitive events are the first day; awards are presented the second day. Separate events and locations for Middle and Secondary competitors.
The Ohio Association is the largest state association within Business Professionals of America with approximately 9,000 middle, secondary and post-secondary members. While the majority of members enroll during their junior or senior year of high school, high school freshmen and sophomores enrolled in approved CTE programs are encouraged to take advantage of the benefits the Ohio Association has to offer. The new middle level is an exciting expansion. In its second year of competing at National there were several top 10 winners on the “big” stage. Look for big things from the middle level. Ohio also has post-secondary chapters at 10 Ohio colleges. There are two virtual chapters in Ohio. One for former secondary BPA members whose college does not host a BPA chapter. Another for students who are NOT in an approve Career Technical program and want to participate in BPA.
