The State Leadership Conference (SLC) is the most anticipated event of the BPA year. The goal of the Workplace Skills Assessment Program is to provide student members the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills achieved in their career-technical programs.   • Demonstrate a competitive spirit
  • Receive recognition
  • Earn industry certification

Competition for Middle Level begins at the local level. Students prepare for and compete in one or more of 15 events:

  • 900 Financial Literacy
  • 910 Keyboarding Production
  • 915 Spreadsheet Applications
  • 940 Web Site Design Team
  • 945 Introduction to Video Production Team
  • 950 Graphic Design Promotion
  • 960 Presentation Management Team
  • 965 Prepared Speech
  • 970 Extemporaneous Speech
  • 975 Entrepreneurship Exploration
  • ### Administrative Support Team is a PILOT this year in Ohio (number coming soon)
  • 905 Business Math Concepts – Open
  • 920 Business Communication Skills Concept – Open
  • 930 Computer Literacy Concepts – Open
  • 980 Business Fundamentals Concepts – Open

Top local qualifiers advance to State as follows:

  • Individual Events – Top 2 from Local to State
  • Team Events – Top 2 from Local to State
  • Open Event – Students at State can take the events, no one from Local moves up to State in these competitions.

Top State qualifiers to advance to National are as follows:

  • Individual Events – Top 3 from State to National
  • Team Events – Top 2 from State to National
  • Open Event – Students at State can take the events, no one from State moves up to National in these competitions.
