Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a student organization whose purpose is to support middle level, high school, and college students interested in business careers. Each year, students compete at state contests, judged by local business and industry leaders, to impart a “real world” experience to the students.

The annual State Leadership Conference requires nearly 150 experienced professionals to judge in the following business areas:

  • Finance
  • Business Administration
  • Management Information Systems
  • Digital Communication & Design
  • Management, Marketing and Communication
  • more detailed descriptions are available here.

Judging responsibilities may include: Reading and evaluating written research projects, evaluating students in various roles and situations, and using provided rubrics to rate presentation, design, and management skills.

A typical judge schedule for State Leadership Conference starts with a provided continental breakfast and general orientation at 8:30am and concludes no later than 6:00pm.  Judges are also provided with parking vouchers, boxed lunches, and snacks as a small token of appreciation.

Judging at the Ohio Association State Leadership Conference is an exciting, rewarding opportunity to mentor truly outstanding young people and to offer students a realistic expectation of the business world.
